Do You Need Help With Your Golf Swing

The majority of golfers out there need and want help with their golf swing. Many have taken lessons, and go to the range to hit balls, but most are not improving. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result.

The same holds true in golf improvement. It is vital to get to the root cause of your swing issues, and focus on specifically addressing them. Many times I have found that most golf teachers have their own agenda, and not the students, resulting in a lot of frustration and no improvement.

As golfers, we need to take personal responsibility for our current golf swing, and learn enough about it to determine an approach that we feel will give us the the “best bang for our buck”, and not just relinquish all the power to a teaching professional. I’m not here to bash golf instructors, but to make you aware that you are soley responsible for your performance, and no one else.

If you feel you need golf swing help, you can either seek out a credible golf teacher, or take the path of personal responsibility, where you would first get a video of your swing. This is what I do. Once you get the video, upload it to your computer, and take a look at it. You may find the root cause immediately, but if you don’t, the next step is to get on youtube and pull of some slo motion swing of touring pros.

Then you can do a side-by-side comparison of your swing, to really see what’s going on. It is going to be an eye-opener for sure. Once you see your issues, get on google and start searching for solutions. This may be a golf swing aid, or possibly a golf instruction website that has your solution on it.

Now you’re on to something! You can create a plan for your improvement and get started. This, in my opinion is a very effective way to improve your golf swing. Many of you might say you don’t want to put the time in, and all I say is accept your current level of play and move on.

There is no short-cut to better golf. The golf swing is a very dynamic, unnatural movement for the body, and if you have ingrained some poor muscle memory, it takes golf drills and practice to fix it, just like any other sport.
